About Sarah

Hi, I'm Sarah and I live in Norfolk with my husband, our 2 children and our dog Bonnie.

As a former Chartered Physiotherapist and Pilates teacher, I have always been interested in the body and health and wellness in general. My search for a calmer, more harmonious way of living however, began when my youngest child was just 2 years old. I reached a state of stress and overwhelm, managing my busy professional and family life and trying to 'do it all'. I felt agitated, angry and dissatisfied a lot of the time not to mention being constantly in a rush and stressed! I was desperate to find something to help....which is when I discovered Qigong and meditation...

It was a shaky start to self-care as I had never delved into that world before, assuming it was for people with real issues...not for people like me. Through regular mind-body practices I can now honestly say I am a very different person to the one I was 8 years ago. I can recognise familiar, unhelpful emotional and behavioural patterns when they arise and have a completely different perspective on life. Rather than berating myself for my 'failures' I offer myself more compassion on a daily basis (still a working progress!) which the whole family benefit from (most days!)

My first hand experience of Qigong and meditation and the improvements I felt led me to researching more about mindfulness based approaches and eventually in undertaking further qualifications in order to be able to teach and share these beneficial practices with others.

So where does the art come in I here you say? Well, rediscovering a long-lost love for art during  ‘lockdown’, I have since found sanctuary in painting. What began as a quiet whisper turned into an unignorable 'calling' to draw, paint and create. I didn't realise quite how big a part of my life had been missing until I began nurturing this creative outlet. Inspired by the beauty of the Norfolk and Suffolk landscapes and coastlines, I really enjoy immersing in the process, usually working from memory and emotion, rather than from reference.  Making art gives me an opportunity to slow down, connect to myself and quietly reflect. I truly believe that giving yourself permission for creative self-expression, in whatever form, can be very healing

Whether you wish unwind with Qigong classes, cultivate calm with Mindfulness & Meditation or simply immerse in some joyful creativity, I look forward to welcoming you!

Go on... give yourself permission...no-one else is going to!!
